Vicky Jackson MCoT, SpLD(Dip)

Vicky Jackson

Vicky Jackson has nearly 20 years experience of training teachers in Specific Learning Difficulties during which time she has run courses for the Hornsby International Dyslexia Centre, Dyslexia Action and lectured extensively on all areas of Special Educational Needs. She spent over 10 years as a trustee of her local Dyslexia Association and, for many years, ran an agency for dyslexia tutors in South West London. She has tutored all age groups both in schools and privately. In 2001 Vicky published ‘Read It! Write It! A Phonics Workbook’ to support the Alpha to Omega programme (Hornsby & Shear) and in 2006 she co-edited Alpha to Omega: The A-Z of Teaching Reading, Writing & Spelling (Hornsby & Shear) 6th Edition and the Alpha to Omega Activities Pack (published September 2006).

Mary Catto Cert Ed, PGDip Ed, AMBDA, OCR SpLD

Mary Catto

Mary Catto has been involved in the field of education for many years. She was engaged as a tutor at the Hornsby International Dyslexia Centre on the OCR course and worked as a tutor at Roehampton University supporting adult students. She is currently a SENCO at Thames Christian College, London where she supports dyslexic, dyspraxic, Asperger Syndrome, Hearing Impaired and EFL pupils. She is a trained assessor for Access Arrangements for Year 9 SATs and GCSE exams and has lectured extensively on specific learning difficulties.

Sarah Freeman BA, MA, OCR SpLD

Sarah has been a specialist literary teacher of children and adults for many years. She has also assessed and tutored learners with dyslexia since completing the OCR Level 7 Diploma in SpLD in 1995. She has a Masters degree in Adult Literacy, Language and Numeracy from the Institute of Education, London, which she completed in 2007. She has worked in schools, further education and adult education colleges across South London and is an experienced teacher trainer.
